The Lliure’s goal is to preserve and share the artistic testimonies generated either by the theatre itself or by third parties, to confer on them the historical value they deserve and to become a source of inspiration for both research and creation.

Any material held by the Teatre Lliure from the different shows put on in its theatres and others can be consulted in the Archive’s digital space. These documents can be seen directly by filling out a request form, with the exception that a few that are subject to rights. They are subject to this procedure in order to respect the intellectual property and copyright regulations in force, which are regulated by Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996, dated 12 April 1996, which approved the recast text of the Law on Intellectual Property, as well as the regulation on image rights, which are regulated by Organic Law 1/1982, dated 5 May 1982, on the civil protection of the right to honour, personal and family privacy and one’s own image.

That is, some materials can be seen directly without the need to request permission in advance, while others will only be accessible on demand by filling out the form and may only be consulted for educational, academic and/or cultural purposes. In these cases, when a user is authorised to see them, the Lliure will provide a link to access them. This material may not be downloaded and will only be available on a temporary basis.

For the purpose of clarity, all the documents in the Archive come with a brief text outlining the viewing conditions and/or allowed uses.

TYPES OF DOCUMENTS AND APPROVED USES

There are certain types of restricted documents to which users may have limited direct access because they may be low-resolution images, scores or fragments of theatrical texts or audiovisual summaries. These can provide an initial overview of the document so the user can determine whether or not they are interested in requesting the complete content.

If the user is, in fact, interested in seeing the entire document, they can request access to it by filling out a form which will be available on the website, so it is easy to fill it out in order to access the document. The person who requests the document has to explain their reason for wanting to access the content that is subject to restrictions based on rights.

Below we outline the types of documents that are not directly accessible, which may be accessed upon request by filling out the form:

Type of document

Approved uses

Recordings of entire shows put on by the Lliure

Viewing is restricted to informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.

Recordings of entire shows not produced by the Lliure

Viewing and use allowed within the timeframe of the rights granted by the contract.
After this timeframe has elapsed, viewing may only be for informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.

Recordings of entire shows which are co-productions or guest productions

Viewing and use are allowed within the timeframe of the rights granted by the contract.
After this timeframe has elapsed, viewing may only be for informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.
© Author and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Original manuscript / final text / versions

Viewing is restricted to informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.
© Author and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Documents from Dansa i Teatre (DDT)

Visualització restringida per finalitats informatives, educatives i/o culturals. Cal citar © Autor i font (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure).

Artistic programmes which include the text of the work

Viewing is restricted to informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.
© Author and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Artistic photographs whose authors are unknown or with rights not granted

Viewing is restricted on a case by case basis.
© Author or author unknown and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Written musical score of a work

Viewing is restricted to informative, educational and/or cultural purposes..
© Author and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Subtitles in other languages

Viewing is restricted to informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.
© Author of the work © Author of the translation and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Sound recordings of an entire show

Listening is restricted to informative, educational and/or cultural purposes.
© Author and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Sound recordings of fragments of shows

Listening is allowed for non-commercial purposes.
© Author and source (Arxiu del Teatre Lliure) must be cited.

Recordings published of the Teatre Lliure Chamber Orchestra

May be heard partly.
